| The Don CeSar Beach Resort Announces the Opening of Spa Oceana
|

The Don CeSar Beach Resort, A Loews Hotel, announces the addition of Spa Oceana, scheduled for completion in Spring 2008. With 11,000 square feet and 16 treatment rooms, Spa Oceana will feature a rooftop garden overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, a private reception area for soothing meditation, deluxe couples treatment rooms with oversized, European-style soaking tubs and suite areas for private parties.
The opulent Spa Oceana will draw from the natural surroundings of the Don, such as the sand from St. Pete Beach and ingredients from the sea, as part of the Loews brand promise to provide guests with an experience that's
“uniquely local." Signature to Spa Oceana, and prior to every treatment, guests will be served herbal elixirs in the Relaxation Room and treated to a footbath infused with orange blossoms, utilizing St. Pete Beach sand for exfoliation. A post treatment ritual on the rooftop garden includes aromatherapy eye pillows and noise-canceling Bose headphones that play a binaural beat overlaid with the sound of the waves to help induce a state of meditation. Maintaining the Mediterranean theme of the spa, steam rooms will have ballet bars for gentle yoga stretches and a salt-water whirlpool.
The setting of Spa Oceana will feature Mediterranean, diaphanous draping, maritime mosaics, numerous water features and gentle wave sounds, representing a modern Gulf environment, as well as adobe, whitewashed walls with blue accents and light tropical furniture. As tidal sounds echo gently throughout the spa, guests are drawn to the deeply rhythmic and relaxing atmosphere.
Retail will offer marine based product lines such as Thalamer, Phytomer and Kerstin Florian incorporating organic seaweed as well as a complete collection of sea salts from exotic locales, including the Dead Sea, Fijian coral, Celtic Grey, Hawaiian Red Clay and Sicily. Once a playground for distinguished celebrities such as Clarence Darrow and F. Scott Fitzgerald, the Loews Don CeSar Beach Resort continues to charm and impress guests with the gracious service preserved from the Great Gatsby era of pampering. Sugar-sand beaches, seaside massages, sunset boat trips and Four-Diamond dining await visitors who return season after season. Blending European grandeur, seaside elegance and sweet sunsets with the enchantment of yesteryear, the romantic legend exemplifies the grandness of America’s traditional beach resorts and is the only historic resort on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
